WHY
We were just two salty destinies with one big dream: to live the kite life! But kitesurfing is much more than just big jumps and kite loops. It’s about a simple but beautiful way of life, the people you meet, the places you visit. It’s about playing with the wind, being connected with mother nature, and the feeling you have the moment you get out of the water - with a big smile on your face.
We truly believe that a shared kite session makes the experience even richer. During the last years we've learned that riding with like-minded women unlocks a very special energy that is undeniable and inescapable.
Our trips are more than a kitesurfing camp. We want to share this unique feeling with women from all over the world, to empower them on the water as well as in their lifestyle and built a community for all the stranded mermaids out there. We are going to show everyone that the female spirit is as free as the ocean and we want to celebrate it with love, support and respect for each other.
HOW
How? That's very simple: we know that when girls support girls they make the impossible possible. We are not just sharing the beauty of the simple kite lifestyle during our retreats; together we want to embrace, empower and celebrate femininity - on and off the water.
While uniting women from all over the planet, who share their passions, dreams and some life-long memories, we will build a strong community of kite girls, a solid and reliable sisterhood for all beach lovers and ocean souls. We believe that by supporting each other we can change something within our lives, society and this sport.

ANITA
Sea lover, strong and independent woman, determined kitesurfer and loving mom of a 6-year old boy.
“For the past years, I’ve been living and teaching a healthy and plantbased lifestyle and it has become a big part of who I am. I’m in love with the sun and the beach as well as with all kinds of outdoor sports. I prefer a simple and easy way of life with good people around and a looooot of wind!
I started kiting in Panama in 2016, this was the beginning of a completely new life for me. Since then I’ve been traveling around the world, looking for new spots (preferably flat water), trying to stay for several months to soak up all the vibes of each new place. Now I am settled on Tenerife, Spain and enjoy my travels with the Salty Sisters! I constantly motivate myself and others to become an even better kitesurfer, never getting tired of learning new tricks and pushing my own boundaries.
There is no better feeling than going to the water with some like-minded people, who share the same love for the sea and the sport.”
JANINA
Ocean soul, freelance copywriter and a passionate kitesurfer who starts living over 25 degrees centigrade.
“There is an old love between me and the sea. I always tried to be at the beach as much as possible, it just felt right. One year after I started kiting in my home-at-heart Greece, I decided to change my life. I quit my job and started traveling even more.
I experienced my love for a simple and active lifestyle and found out that home is where my heart is and that one should do everything with love.
To me, kitesurfing is much more than just big jumps and challenging tricks, it is about the feeling of excitement and joy you get when on the water. Sharing a session with other passion-driven kite girls is one of the most outstanding experiences. I’m constantly amazed by the energy unlocked by a group of strong women, who support each other no matter what. It’s that incredible feeling that I want to share with the world.”
THIS IS US
We met – surprise, surprise – in an all-girls environment when working together in a women’s gym in Vienna, Austria some years ago. After a few months it was already clear: this is going to be a very special friendship. Being two very different characters, it was always the love for adventure, the curiosity for life itself and the never-ending drive to travel and see the world, which created an exciting base for a life-changing connection.
Our decision to travel to Latin America - working together at a beach bar in Panama and exploring Colombia - would turn out to have a huge impact on our lives. Anita took her first kite lessons and from that moment on we were more than just friends: we became Salty Sisters. We started traveling together from kite spot to kite spot, sharing our love and passion for the sport as well as our dreams and life goals. There can be no better session than the ones we share – the feeling of trust, love and endless support we give each other is the feeling we want to spread and share with others.
We want to connect all the stranded mermaids out there, the sea lovers and ocean souls, inspiring women and strong kite girls, all Salty Sisters waiting to be brought together. Because we know you’re out there!
